Just Another Normal Day, Where Nothing Out Of The Ordinary Happens

It's nice to have a break in my schedule to give you an update on how the last few days have been.

Friday November 10th Ashley and I went out to dinner to celebrate being together for a month. She treated me out to dinner at El Mariachi's!!! I had been saying how much I wanted to eat at a local Mexican restaurant, My girl not only listens, but very good luck at picking out a restaurant.

I had a ground beef tostada.

Ashley had a chicken quesadilla.

The restaurant totally reminded me of La Hacienda!!! The food was amazing!!!

Last week was tough. The first portion of my Youth Ministry one year curriculum was due, but after a few late nights, a trip to Walmart for ink, and 60 pages... It is finished!!!

Later that night a few of us went to the park, and then to an awesome local drive-in diner. We finished up the evening with watching Ratatouille. Cam was in bed, so we couldn't use my room. The student lounge was closed, and the only available place was third floor Currie.

Using a projector, and a mattress pad, we made ourselves some Disney Magic.

On Saturday I helped Becca Wine (Sacramento) out with changing a flat tire. I did it all by myself, and with no previous idea as to how to do it. But it worked, I'm super proud of myself.

Saturday evening through Tuesday I was battling both a cold, and a fever. It was super annoying, and drained me badly, But on Monday night I managed to get Rachael and Ashley to join me in watching my sick movie, Jurassic Park, despite the fact that they both cannot stand the movie. Ahhh true friendship.

Last night at Neighborhood the Junior High ministry celebrated an early Thanksgiving, by bowling, with frozen Turkeys. Gotta love Youth Ministry.

It's Been Far Too Long...

I am sorry it has been forever since I have posted, but this thing called HOMEWORK entered my life quite dominantly in the month of October. October was a month of challenges. For the entire month and even up to today I have been having an battle with my shoulders. Every morning I wake up and find myself in pain. You can be praying for quality sleep and restoration in my body. October was a month of major projects, tests, and papers. I am currently working on a major youth ministry curriculum that will take an entire years worth of material, and allow me to visualize what my first year of ministry could be like. It is quite time consuming, but I see the value of it every time I sit down to work on it.

The biggest academic news for me so far this year occurred in October. I have really felt since arriving on campus that God wanted me to be around the community of Redding for longer than originally planned. I told Him that if he provided a way for me that I'd gladly follow, and in fact he provided several. I am excited to announce to all that don't know that I will be at Simpson for another year!!! God has put on my heart that I should pursue an additional minor in psychology. I have tweaked my grad plan, and will now be graduating a year later than I had originally planned. Because of this God is opening doors for me all over the city. I am beginning to really understand psychology more than before,my relationships with my friends are becoming even greater, and I have gotten plugged into my church's (Neighborhood) Junior High ministry. I love my middle schoolers!!! We celebrated Choctober the night before Halloween, and many of them were literally swimming in Chocolate. We also went down to Sacramento on the first of November for an all night party where we saw a Sacramento Kings basketball game, and spent the rest of the night surfing, bowling, and jumping on trampolines. That night four kids from our ministry gave their lives to Christ!!! God is doing great things this year, and its only the 10th of November!!!

Were there fun things that happened since I last blogged, YEAH THERE WAS!!!

On the 10th of October this lovely lady and I both finally determined that God was calling us to have a relationship together. Ashley has been a huge blessing to me as a bestfriend since I arrived at Simpson, and is continuing to be used in my life to bring me closer to God. Today (November 10th) is our one month celebration (Can't believe she lasted this long with me, She's crazy!!!), and I look forward to many more adventures with her to come.

On the 11th of October I took Ashley with me home to Salem for her first (Technically her second since she went to Ashland at the end of September, but that doesn't count) visit to Oregon! We had Columbus weekend off from classes and I wanted to show her my home. It took six and a half hours both ways but was an adventure. The best part of it was that no one in Salem had any idea that we were coming. What a surprise for everyone, especially my family, particularly my mom, who received a lovely birthday present.

On the 12th of October I got Pokémon Y!!! I love me some Pokémon!!!

Blarg and I entered into the competition of Airband!!! During fall preview weekend Simpson has a musical routine competition where we lip-sync to a song. All of the routines contained large casts, and multiple songs. But Blarg and I made ours a duet featuring the song Man or a Muppet (Click The Link) from The Muppets. We didn't win, but people still come to me to tell me how great it was.

I also got super cool Haunted Mansion iPhone Cases!!!

October was Great!!! And I Promise I'll Blog More In November... (;
